Have you ever wondered what it’s like out on the water?

Britain’s beautiful coastal landscapes and rivers offer an unrivalled view of the natural world around us. However, there’s plenty to consider before venturing out, from choosing a boat and a boat engine, to safety equipment and procedures. We were challenged to create a consumer-friendly story for budding adventurers both new and experienced to raise awareness of Honda’s range of boat engines in time for this year’s Southampton International Boat Show.

Inspired by stories of being out on the water with her family, we partnered with sea-faring travel influencer Heather Kemp to compile the ultimate guide to adventuring out on the water. Heather curated a list of her favourite coastal locations with all the best things to see and do, from dreamy Scotland sunsets to wildlife watching in Pembrokeshire, as well as landmark spotting along the River Dart. To support the story further, Heather also created an informative list of top tips for safe voyages and boat maintenance.

We also created beautiful drone photography of each location for visual impact, which was distributed to consumer and lifestyle media alongside our press release, listicle, visitors guide and top tips. The campaign was further amplified on Heather’s social channels, with a series of Instagram content on her channel @kemp.life, featuring her Honda BF100 outboard engine with vivid blue seascapes front and centre.

Heather’s story captured the imagination of the media and her social audience alike, delivering 111 pieces of coverage, 20,800 organic social media views and counting, as well as 88 follow links from top-tier articles.
