Travel giant, Expedia, release an annual Air Travel Hacks report, with the Airline Reporting Corporation to position the company as experts in the travel industry.

We were tasked with using Expedia’s own data to create a news story, bolstered with OnePoll stats.

The campaign explained how you could save a quarter on plane tickets and have a stress free experience if you follow the advice set out – including booking 162 – 180 days before departure and flying on a Friday in January to avoid cancellations.

We were asked to showcase Expedia’s internal data to create a newsworthy story about the cheapest and most stress free times to book a flight. The report was set to position Expedia as a trusted company in the travel space.

We combined this data with OnePoll research which revealed the top worried travellers have when they fly to create a fully rounded news story to generate the maximum amount of coverage.

We considered the stats provided by the brand to come up with an angle fit for the national press and brainstormed a supporting angle using OnePoll research to back up the stats provided by the brand.
