Public Relations For Start-Up Businesses & Small Businesses
Generate coveted column inches without the hassle of an advertising campaign. Our press releases are an affordable, fast and highly-effective way of publicising your business, product, service or event. Prices start from just £395.
What is public relations and who needs the service?
Public relations, or PR, includes all the things you can do to get the attention of your target audience, to tell it who you are and why your products or services are worthy of its attention. A good PR campaign will boost awareness of your products or services and, ultimately, lead to increased sales. This means anyone who has a service or product on offer needs to put a PR plan in place. This includes business of all sizes, from start-up companies and sole traders to multinational organisations.
Isn't advertising more effective than a press release or PR service?
There's no question that good advertising bears fruit. But the process of designing and producing an advert is no simple matter. What's more, placing it in newspapers and magazines – or on TV – can cost tens of thousands of pounds. That's where publicity comes in. A good press release, story or publicity 'stunt' will generate coveted column inches without the hassle (or spiraling costs) of an advertising campaign.
If I want big results, shouldn't I go to a big PR firm?
We provide the same services as large, faceless PR firms but with one major difference: our clients get more bang for their buck. They also receive a more personalised service and the kind of attention only a small, friendly team can provide. And then there's the cost. We don't employ 'media luvvies' with bulging pay packets so our overheads are far lower than other organisations – passing our saving on to you.
I run a successful business already. Why shouldn't I hire my own in-house publicist or communications director?
Depending on the size of your business, hiring an in-house expert can be an efficient use of your PR budget. But if you can't afford to hire the best, you'll be left with a staffer with little experience or contacts. Outside PR firms are also more objective and can inject new energy into existing campaigns.
I've never worked with the press before. Will I receive media coaching?
72 Point understands that speaking directly to the media can be a daunting experience. For that reason, we act as a 'buffer' between you and the TV, radio, or printed publication. We'll also help you polish your interview skills, and provide tips about side-stepping difficult questions.
Where will my press release be distributed?
Once your press release has been approved, we will send it directly to the most applicable publication or news outlet. Usually, this includes both local or regional, and national newspapers and magazines. Most PR firms send their stories out in bulk, or on a 'wire', in a futile hope that they are spotted or 'picked up'. But 72 Point is different. We'll get in touch with newsdesks directly and liaise with the most relevant reporter in person.
I've tried publicity in the past, but my story has fizzled out after a few days. How can I stop this happening again and keep my story in the media spotlight?
Keeping a product or service in the media glare can be a difficult – and very expensive – task. But it needn't be. We can help you find that timely and newsworthy 'angle' again and again to make sure your story stays at the forefront of peoples' minds.
How much does your press release and PR packages cost?
Our services start from as little as £395.
How do I submit the details of my service or product?
You can contact us by phone on 0117 9066 555.
How will I know if my product or service is newsworthy?
Our writers are experts at finding that newsworthy 'angle' to make the media sit up and take notice.
How long will the writing process take?
We will draft your copy within five working days before sending it back to you for final approval.
Can I make any changes to the press release?
Of course. In the unlikely event that you're unhappy about any aspect of the draft, simply let us know and we'll make the necessary changes free-of-charge.
Can you guarantee that the media will contact me and/or pick up my story?
No. We'll do everything possible to give your service or product a timely and newsworthy angle. And we'll pass it to the most applicable publication or journalist. But there is always the possibility that your story is not used. If it's not picked up, we'll send it out again at no extra cost.
I already have a press release. Can you still help?
We'd be happy to cast our eye over your press release and give you our feedback. If we think it needs changing, we'll let you know. We won't charge you for this service and there's no obligation.
What other services do you offer in addition to press releases?
We provide an extensive list of PR services to cater for every type and size of business. This includes web design, copywriting, script editing and TV pitches.
I already use a PR firm but am looking to change. Can you help?
Absolutely. The quality of our service means lots of people come to us when other PR firms fail to deliver.
I'm still not sure. Do you have a helpline?
If you're still unsure whether you need a PR service, feel free to contact us for a no-obligation chat on 0117 9066 555. We're here to help and will happily point you in the right direction if you choose to go elsewhere.
